Designing a smart web map client

Abstract :

When publishing map on the Web, it's a focused and difficult issue to get high display efficiency. This paper designes a web map client based on Applet technology, which is smart to display huge vector map data. The overview of this client is described first. Then, several methods to improve map display efficiency are discussed, on streaming, cache and thread technology.
