Abstract
Comparing data collection technique for mapping purposes will inevitably include factors such as accuracy, cost, duration an manpower. A number of studies have shown that some technique may provide high accuracy but at the expense of high cost, longer duration and high manpower. It is the purpose of this paper to present a methodology of mapping technique from an alternative method of data collection using low cost hand held Global Positioning System (GPS). The objective of the study is to assess the geometric accuracy of the hand held GPS for specific mapping purposes. The result of the on going research is to be compared to existing reliable controls. |
