The role of GPS/GLONASS and RS in updating map database

Abstract The data in map database mostly roots in the digitizing of a paper map, air and satellite photograph. It is an active topic to discuss updating theory and basic method of map database in cartography an all times. At present, two most advanced technologies i.e. GPS & GLONASS have been used for updating map database. Further two types of satellite position systems (GPS & GLONASS) are applied for positional database, especially, for cultural features. The RS technology provides good geometric relation and resolution of SPOT, IRS, and small satellite, SAR Images & broadens the sources of datum. This could economize the expenditure, improve the efficiency, and shorten the cycle. | ||
