Abstract :
Research to identify groundnut farming using Landsat-7 ETM images that acquisition on 2002 and 2004 was carried out in Bantul (Yogyakarta). NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) and SARVI (Soil and Atmospheric Resistance Vegetation Index) processed based on digital number and reflectance values were used to identify groundnut farming. Analyzing NDVI and SARVI value from several age of groundnut plant was obtained a logarithm model between vegetation index and age of groundnut plant on generative stage with coefficient of determinance (R2) above 0.80. The Logarithm models were applied on Landsat data period June – August 2004 in Bantul, Sragen, Bojonegoro, and Tuban regency of Jawa Island. The accuracy of prediction of groundnut farming was proved by ground truth and Dichotomous test. Probability of Detection (POD) was one of statistical value used to know accuracy of the models. The verification result showed that POD of NDVI, SARVI (base on reflectance value), and NDVI (based on digital number value) logarithm model were 59%, 56% and 46% respectively. Verification of age of groundnut plant obtained a varying accuracy for each other location. However, there was tendency that the appropriate age prediction obtained from NDVI (reflectance) logarithm model. Groundnut farming area identified by the model in Tuban, Sragen, Bantul, and Bojonegoro regency were 988 Ha, 754 Ha, 138 Ha, and 100 Ha respectively.
