PHOTOMOD software family comprises a wide range of products for photogrammetric processing of the remote sensing data which allow to extract geometrically accurate spatial information from almost any commercially available type of imagery obtained either with film or digital cameras, high resolution satellite scanners or synthetic aperture radars.
The first license of PHOTOMOD was sold in 1995.
Since that time the system has been continually improved to adopt the requirements and wishes of customers. It has thus evolved from a set of tools for a single stereo pair processing to a complete digital photogrammetric system able to produce all significant kinds of photogrammetric data such as DTMs, orthomosaics and vector maps.
All necessary photogrammetric operations such as block triangulation and adjustment, automatic creation and manual editing of DTMs, 2D and 3D feature extraction, orthorectification and mosaicking can be implemented within a uniform PHOTOMOD software environment without utilizing of any third party products.
At the same time special modules StereoLink and StereoVectOr can be used to help the users to work seamlessly with MicroStation.
While most of PHOTOMOD users still apply it to process aerial images, the number of clients utilizing satellite images in their projects is steadily increasing.
When processing satellite images, rigorous sensors’ models are applied where it is possible (SPOT, ASTER, EROS, Cartosat-2) or RPC (QuickBird, IKONOS, OrbView, Cartosat-1). If such information is unavailable more general Direct Linear Transformation (DLT) algorithm is used.
The presentation describes also the newest improvements in PHOTOMOD 4.2 including advanced capabilities of satellite scanner imagery processing and support of airborne digital cameras data.
