Abstract
LBS is used mainly for outdoor applications, but importance of using LBS for indoor applications is now
being realised. Lot of research work is being done worldwide for getting a indoor fix with a acceptable
accuracy. There are potential technologies like WLAN fingerprinting, RFID positioning, and indoor positioning
with GPS.But it has always been a challenge to get satisfactory results. AGPS is being used since
many years in cellular system. By using the assisted GPS technology in mobile network, its possible to get
a more accurate fix with better yield and TTF(time to fix). Same user is going to initiate the fix from indoor
and outdoor location using the same terminal. It woudl be ideal to integrate indoor LBS technologies with
AGPS solution. In this article I will discuss more on how we can achieve this.
