Abstract

An enterprise is as effective as its personnel who are on the field. When field staff in an enterprise (be it sales, service or operations personnel) are unable to perform to their fullest potential, it directly impacts the various areas of the business including customer satisfaction, business growth and profitability. Maximizing field staff productivity not only involves automating processes, but also ensuring efficient delivery of “relevant” information that field staff need to best perform during their sales/service calls. Such measures also provide visibility and facilitate effective utilization of mobile resources such as equipment and vehicles. This presentation discusses the benefits that mobility can have on the field operations as well as the criteria involved in implementing “location-aware” mobile field applications and technical considerations in evaluating such solutions
