Abstract
TopoSys GmbH, Germany is manufacturer of the precision LIDAR system FALCON, which is based on a glass fiber technology. Recently the LIDAR system has been complemented by an image scanner. This new equipment allows producing true-colour and colour-infrared images simultaneously with high resolution digital elevation models (DEM).
TopoSys LIDAR DEM is raster DEM available at raster width between 0.5 m and 2m, while pixel size of associated image data is respectively 0.3 m and 1 m. Due to its performance, FALCON data is frequently used in applications, which need highly reliable and detailed information.
The paper gives specification of LIDAR and line scanner system. The quality of basic data (LIDAR and image data) is illustrated by means of examples of international projects run in the last years.
