Optimization of Global Polynomials for DTM Model Generation Using Genetic Algorithms

Abstract
Using Polynomials is one of the useful methods for DTM model generation. Currently, to determine the suitable terms of Polynomials, a low order polynomial is chosen. Then a special order is selected and terms are added to initial polynomial. Each time the precision of model is computed to see if the new term is suitable and acceptable. Unfortunately, in this method the effect of term is not studied independently. So, previous terms might mislead the process of decision. In this paper, an attempt is made to handle the above problem, using a Genetic Algorithm. Advantages and disadvantages of this new method are compared with those of the current approaches.
