Data Analysis and Interpretation of Results

PART –II Intercorrelations:
New variables were created by combining items that tapped each of three main areas: viability of government policies, awareness, and measures of government policies.

The viability of government policies index was developed by combining period of use of GPS, alliances with other companies, effect of globalization and the rating of the Indian market for GPS sales. Combining variables of management awareness, use of GPS by the public, professionals and the defense organization, and the role of public and private sectors yielded the awareness index.

The index for the measure of government policies was formed by combining variables concerned with the influence of India’s policy on exchange of data, growth of private companies, the role of government ministries in publishing GPS-related issues in the media, mapping policy, lack of availability of infrastructural maps and the importance of government feedback.

Table-1 shows inter-correlation among the different items. Pearson Product Moment was performed to test the viability of government policies. All the relations mentioned here are statistically significant at 0.05 level and the association found among them were at a moderate level. It was found that government policies and awareness among senior management in India are significantly positively related with an r= 0.301. The coefficient of determination is r2= 9%, which shows a slight moderate relationship between them. This indicates that government policies can increase awareness among senior management all over India.
