Introduction
Delimitations and Limitations
An important parameter for a research study is to establish the boundaries, exceptions, reservations and qualifications which are inherent in every study, whether quantitative or qualitative
The main delimitation of this research is that it is restricted to consumer market products and not military related products. Only following GPS applications providing vendors were studied and were discussed in detail in the application chapter
- Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Survey and Navigation Industry
This study was conducted in India, a developing country, which has vast market potential due to its large population. Therefore, this study may not apply to other developing countries. These are some of the delimitations in this study.
Following were some of the limitation of this study
- An online survey was conducted by sending the survey link by emails. Internet facilities may not be freely available in all the companies. So the quality of time spent on the survey may have varied. As a result, some survey questions have not yielded detailed answers.
- GPS is a new technology so GPS professionals would have provided better information on the surveys. If by chance a non-GPS professional received the email, it must have affected the outcome of the answers.
- It is likely that all the participants were not equally responsive, so the conditions in which the responses were given was beyond control.
- Since the respondents were volunteering for the survey it was not obligatory for them to fully complete the survey. This could have a negative impact on the survey output.
Failure to consider any of the above factors can create problems in the collection of the feedback, which is vital for this research study.
