Conclusion

8.1. CONCLUSIONS:

  • In the present study, the various aspects of the water supply system are discussed, specifically problems and issues related to the Hyderabad city. The problems have been identified and the feasibility of the various development options to tackle the problems has been computed.
  • Also, the new management system (GIS), its applicability in Urban Planning specifically for Infrastructure management has been evaluated and the proposals are made. Finally the study concludes with the recommendations at various levels of planning for the Hyderabad city.
  • Presently water supply network covers 96% of the MCH area and 4% is covered by the tankers.
  • Present lpcd is 110 in MCH area. The water from Krishna river supplies 45mgd of water to the city. The lpcd will raise to 150(standards of HMWSSB).
  • Equal distribution of water supply is not maintain (i.e. though lpcd is 110 for city, it is not maintaining the same lpcd for all the divisions). Depending on the densities and demand of particular area/division the water should be supply.
