Aim And Objectives

The basic aim and objectives of the study is to examine the process of urban sprawl and transformations of occupational pattern. In order to understand their processes, causes and consequences the following aims and objectives of the study are outlined:

1. To identify the process of sprawl (1971-2001)
2. To analyse the relationship between urban sprawl and emerging land use pattern in Raipur city
3. To probe into the relationship between urban sprawl and the socio-economic transformations of dwellers of the City.
4. To suggest suitable planning measures to counter the undesirable consequences of urban sprawl on the city’s land use.
