2.6       Climate
Nagpur has been classified under the tropical dry sub humid climate. The mean annual summer temperatures (MAST) are greater than 220 C with mean summer (MS) and mean winter (MW) temperatures differing by more than 5o. The mean annual rainfall of the district ranges between 1000 mm to 1300 mm, of which about 80% is received from summer monsoon during June to September. The distribution of rainfall varies; it is maximum (1300 mm) in the eastern part and decreases progressively to the West (1000 mm), indicating relatively moist eastern and dry western sector.
