Input Data and Methodology
To achieve the objective of NPS pollution load estimation in Nagpur District,
the data on agricultural practices, fertilizer application
rates, rainfall was collected from various secondary sources as well as remote
sensing analysis was carried out for land use classification of the study area.
The agricultural area was mapped onto the base map by supervised classification
of the IRS-P6 image and nutrient loading into the runoff from agricultural
area was estimated based on runoff and fertilizer application and consumption
rates in Kharif and Rabi season.
