Study Area Details

1.1       Location
Nagpur district situated at the heart of India (Fig 1). The district has a total geographical area of 9931 sq. km. and is located between 78° 15’ to 79° 40’ E longitude and 20° 35’ to 21° 45’N latitude. It is divided into 13 Talukas, viz. Nagpur, Saoner, Ramtek, Katol, Umrer, higna, Kamptee, Parseoni, Bhiwapur, Kuhi, Maunda, Kalmeshwar and Narkher as shown in Fig 1. The Nagpur district is regarded as a highly developed district in the eastern part of Maharashtra State, popularly known as Vidarbha region.
